Zin Yoga Flight School: The Art of Arm Balancing
Saturday, August 23
12:30 - 2:30 PM
In this fun, challenging workshop, Christopher Love, E-RYT will show you how to execute arm balances with greater mindfulness and ease.
If you have ever felt anxiety about these postures, wondering if your arms are strong enough and scared you might fall, you are not alone. It’s easy to feel intimidated by arm balances. Too often our nerves tighten when attempting them, rather than understanding the body mechanics which can focus your effort, and help to relax as you are suspended.
We will warm up, open the shoulders, activate our core and focus on balance. Then from the ground up we take flight, with preparatory postures and the use of props.
We will break down such poses as Crow (Bakasana), Side Crow, Flying Pigeon (Galavasana), Eight-angle pose (Astavakrasana), Shoulder-Pressing pose (Bhujapidasana), Firefly (Titibasana), Side Plane (Vasisthasana), and Scales pose (Tolasana).
If you are strong enough to support a solid Plank Pose or Chaturanga, then come fly with me!
